This is a complete non-sequiteur, as far as the theme of the blog goes, so I hope you'll all forgive me! ;-) But I've long been searching for instructions on how to make shoes - I keep thinking they can't be that hard, just to make simple sandals or something. And, lo and behold, this came up on Etsy when I logged in this afternoon: How to make your own sandals!
This is a step in the right direction - I think you could cut your own soles from something rubbery, if need be, and skip the dismantle-existing-flip-flops step. But I love this idea! I may have to buy some cheap flip flops and experiment... If any of you try this out, please let me know and share photos!
