Jens Pind Linkage - usually known as JPL for short - is one of the more difficult weaves, despite its apparently simplicity. It only works with a very narrow range of ring sizes (those with an Aspect Ratio of less than about 3.5. 3 is ideal), and if you get it wrong, it will just fall apart. If you go too small, it won't be flexible enough. Deeply disheartening (yes, that is from experience...) The other problem is that, to start with at least, the pattern of rings can be hard to discern, and it's a weave that you have to concentrate on - at least I do - for quite some time, to make sure each ring goes in its proper place, above and below the right rings.
When it's done, though, it makes an intricate, flexible chain that drapes beautifully.
